Rio de Janeiro 3d- Paraty 4d- Ouro Preto 2d- Tiradentes 1d- Salvador de Bahía 3d- Cachoeira 1d -Olinda 3d– Recife - Sao Luis de Maranhao 3d This trip combines Brazil´s natural beauties with a lot of history and culture, visiting the most important UNESCO World Heritages Sites of Brazilian Colonial Architecture. Rio de Janeiro, the 'Marvellous City' as its inhabitants, the Cariocas , call it, is indeed one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in the world. Uniquely situated on a narrow strip of land between the green mountains and the deep blue sea it is surrounded by granite based mountains, coves and white sand beaches. Founded in 1660, the colonial jewel of Paraty has elegant colonial Portuguese churches and houses in a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere of a town trapped contentedly in a time warp, surrounded by beautiful, rugged beaches, numerous islands off the coast, parks with bromeliad plantations and waterfalls. On the old times, when the state of Minas Gerais was the most important extract area in Brazil, all the gold and diamonds had to be transported to the ports on the coast. Villages started to grown with very particular baroque architecture, traditions and culture, along this route. The old royal route includes the historical colonialo town of Ouro Preto, the first Brazilian town to be declared as a World Heritage Site, Diamantina, which used to be a center for diamond mines and Tiradentes, known for its cobblestone streets, churches, arts, nice restaurants and small familiar pousadas. Vibrant and colourful Salvador, capital of Bahia, situated in a landscape of green tropical hills and endless beaches in the “Bahía de Todos los Santos” has over the years witnessed the mixing of several cultures. Salvador presents some of the most beautiful and well- preserved buildings of Brazilian 18th century architecture and is also considered the cultural capital of Brazil, being an explosion of colors, rhythms and fun. On a hill overlooking the Atlantic and Recife sits Olinda an open-air treasure. Charming, picturesque, historic, artsy, fun and friendly, Olinda is full of galleries, artisans' workshops, museums and music, and there's always some kind of celebration in the works. The historical city of São Luis, funded by French settlers in 1612, the city was conquered by the Portuguese a few years later. Itmaintains a charming and well preserved colonial quarter, famous for its typical Portuguese architecture and delicate glazed tiles. A visit to the surreal Lençóis Maranhenses, wonderful dunes and lagoons that create an incredible scenery. - We choose the most comfortable and stylish accomodations: charming colonial pousadas, cozy beach lodges on the very edge of the shore, boutique hotels.
