BAY OF ANGRA (Rio de Janeiro) Enjoy an exciting sea adventure, sail through crystal-clear waters, visit heaven-like islands and harbours and choose from a variety of water sports. The most important area for nautical sports in Brazil is the bay of Angra, with thousands of beaches, harbours and 365 islands. Among these islands, the biggest one is Ilha Grande with fantastic beaches and a great surf. This wonderful landscape is surrounded by the Atlantic Forest which leans over the sea's crystal clear warm waters. When you are not at sea, good times can be waiting in the many restaurants and bars the city has to offer, on a nice walk in the forest or even on a hidden waterfall. Those who enjoy diving will always find clear warm waters. A few miles away is Paraty, a historical city with all its colonial times arquitecture preserved. Minimum stay: 4 days. Closest national/international airport: Rio de Janeiro SALVADOR DA BAHIA The region between Salvador and the Camamú bay offers undiscovered islands and beaches only accessible by boat. Constant tradewinds, warm temperaturas and crystal-clear water during the summer period (Oct – Mar) make it a paradise for sailors. From Salvador you can sail the Bay of All Saints its islands. Further southwest we have to the the Paraguçú Rivermouth, a place full of history and legends, home to tobbaco farms. A night´s sail away is the Tinharé archipelago, coral reef home of rich marine fauna and flora, and has stunning mangroves and river labyrinths as well. The main island is Morro de Sao Paulo is renowned for its scubadiving and vibrant nightlife. In the south you will find the smaller and wilder island of Boipeba where visitors seeking tranquillity can circle the island walking its silver sands and swimming, taste its oysters and other shellfish or explore the coral reefs. The bay of Camamú, another sail´s night from Tinharé, hosts some unspoilt islands and handcrafted shipbuilders. Minimum stay: 3 days. Closest international airport: Salvador/ Salvador
